The Museum’s History and Research Department conducts scientific research to:
– show the life and achievements of Józef Piłsudski against a broad historical, cultural and social background, as well as conveying and disseminating his political thought and the values and principles he represented, comprehensively showing the rich biography of the man, patriot, soldier and statesman;
– present the unique experience of the Polish people in the struggle for independence and the restoration of their own statehood; to show the role and importance of Józef Piłsudski in the history of Poland, to present his political concepts and the impact of the victory in 1920 on the shape of the post-war order of Versailles and the shape of Central and Eastern Europe and its development in the first half of the 20th century;
– present the idea of building a modern state, ahead of the “old European democracies” in many fields – social, cultural, economic and scientific, such as labor rights, women’s rights, universal education, the development of science and technology, and the achievements of the Polish Second Commonwealth in all areas of social, economic, scientific, educational and cultural activity.
